About the Opportunity 

  • Expense Reporting and Variance Analysis 
    • Performs expense analysis by company, product, region and identifies areas of risk or opportunity with appropriate recommendations 
    • Responsible for the timeliness, integrity and accuracy of the month-end close process, which involves recording journal entries and account reconciliation 
    • Monitors assigned department/functional areas’ actual variance to plan expenses and conducts in-depth analysis to determine and question reasons for variance.  
    • Identifies and highlights variance in question to functional area Expense Coordinator ensuring effective teamwork and communication to establish findings and drivers 
    • Prepares and reviews monthly slides for Leadership Team Meeting, highlighting key messages, risks and opportunities 
  • Reforecasting of Expenses 
    • Develop year end expense reforecast for assigned functional area  
    • Prepare reforecast of expense submission to parent company for short- and long-range forecasts 
    • Provide insights driven by data for ah-hoc analysis 
  • Expense Plan Budget 
    • Provides planning expertise to assist in the development of guidelines, bulletins and templates 
    • Coordinate the annual budgeting process for assigned functional areas by delivering planning process timelines, guidelines, bulletins and templates 
    • Identify opportunity and provide training and ongoing support to Expense Coordinators and fellow team members on overall planning process and systems as needed 
  • System and Processes 
    • Lead and participate in system upgrades/migrations for expense reporting, tracking and planning tools 
    • Develop and deliver user documentation and training internal expense processes within the team and for functional areas 
  • Team Lead for the Expense Planning and Spend Analysis Team 
    • Responsible for the first review of various monthly/quarterly/annual deliverables as well as any ad hoc analysis produced by other team members 
    • Provide on-going guidance and cross-training to other team members as required 
    • Actively involved in functional and cross-functional teams/projects, acting in an advisory role from an expense planning and spend perspective 

About You 

  • CPA 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in financial analysis and forecasting, budget formulation, financial planning, financial controls, as well as preparing a variety of financial performance reports 
  • Advanced working experience with computer applications (i.e., SAP, MS Office Suite) that pertain to financial and accounting systems, processes, analysis and system controls 

Salary Range 

$85,000/year
