Senior Financial Analyst (Closed)

Our client is a leading company engaged in the exploration, development, and production of mineral resource properties. They are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to primarily focus on external reporting documents, preparation and analysis of various financial reporting schedules, and preparation of legal entity financial statements, amongst other related tasks.

About the Opportunity

• In a timely and accurate manner roll forward, prepare and update the MD&A document in line with the consolidation calendar
• Maintaining and updating the MD&A document for new disclosure, accounting and business matters which require external disclosure to stakeholders
• Coordinating with various stakeholders to obtain and input both financial, operational and qualitative information into the MD&A
• Act as chief liaison between finance and operations finance department in relation to preparation and compilation of MD&A information
• Ensure SOX controls compliance, and implement new controls as needed
• Gather financial information on a quarterly basis to prepare a complete and accurate statement of cash flows for incorporation into the quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Coordinating with various stakeholders to obtain financial inputs into the cash flow statement
• Identify and incorporate new cash flow items into the cash flow statement and ensure cash flow statement is complete and accurate.
• Ensure SOX controls compliance, and implement new controls as needed
• Obtain and consolidate mining assets and capital expenditures schedules from the corporate segment and the operating mine sites
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end schedules and working papers, including both financial and operational schedules and working papers as required
• Review and assess the completeness, existence and accuracy of capitalized mining assets, borrowing costs and other capital asset categories and ensure accurate presentation
• Ensure SOX controls compliance, and implement new controls as needed
• Prepare and maintain calculation of non-GAAP measures and other significant financial statement and MD&A disclosure items
• Assist the accounting policy team with the preparation of accounting policy memos
• Liaise with external and internal audit teams
• Support and actively participate in all other finance and reporting related activities and initiatives

About You

• CPA
• Senior from Big 6 accounting firm - must have mining clients
• IFRS knowledge and experience
• ARO (Asset Retirement Obligation) experience is an asset
• SOX or internal controls experience is an asset

Salary Range

$90,000 - $100,000/year depending on candidate experience.
