Our client is seeking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Financial Reporting team for an 18-month contract.

About the Opportunity

Senior Financial Analyst: Financial Reporting will support and execute on Financial Reporting needs and Finance projects related to complex transactions and business initiatives. This will require flexibility, technical accounting skills and the ability to work with many stakeholders throughout the business. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you will undertake the following:

  • Perform and interpret detailed monthly variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement line items at the subsidiary and consolidated level.
  • Review and preparation of complex account reconciliations and journal entries including assisting with corporate consolidations and subsidiary eliminations.
  • Research complex accounting issues under IFRS and US GAAP reporting.
  • Support tax in the preparation of tax filings (corporate, commodity, premium etc.), tax provisions and tax reconciliations.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements at the consolidated level for the Board of Directors and at the subsidiary level to satisfy provincial requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external advisors to ensure satisfaction of business needs and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Communicate with influence and develop effective relationships with various internal stakeholder groups.
  • Provide coaching / guidance to team members within the Finance group on complex accounting issues and changing IFRS standards.

About You

  • CPA, CA preferred (CPA designation required)
  • 4+ years of accounting experience preferably from one of the Big Four or Mid-Tier Accounting Firms
  • 3+ years business experience within Finance function
  • Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP
  • Experience in the development of governance processes and flow charts as well as documentation of assumptions and recommendations
  • Methodical and logical problem solver with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
  • Proactive, with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with the other Microsoft Office products.
  • Exposure to consolidations and accounting tools such as Hyperion and Oracle would be an asset.

Pay Rate

$85,000 Salary
