Our client is sourcing for a Senior Financial Analyst for an 18 month contract.

About the Opportunity

Accounting Policy

  • Development of group accounting policies and guidelines and roll-out of new policies to Company’s operating sites
  • IFRS and accounting developments research
  • Ensure the Company’s consolidated financial statements contain the necessary disclosure requirements
  • Provide guidance and advice to operations and corporate office groups on the financial reporting implications of complex and non-routine business transactions
  • Preparation of quarterly Audit Committee memo, providing analysis and insight on new accounting policies and financial reporting developments
  • Maintain and update the Company’s accounting directive

Consolidations and Financial Statements

  • Monthly consolidation of financial results and analysis of financial information as reported by the Company’s subsidiaries
  • Assist with the preparation of the Company’s consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes
  • Perform reasonability assessments and prepare working papers to support financial statement notes
  • Respond to Financial Statement inquiries from Senior Leadership and Audit Committee

Financial Reporting Oversight and Compliance

  • Provide financial oversight to the Company’s operating sites
  • Standardize reporting tools and templates across all operations
  • Assist in the maintenance of proper internal controls and procedures relating to the consolidation and external reporting function

Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act

  • Coordinate ESTMA reporting across the Company’s business units
  • Research and educate corporate office and business units on ESTMA policy matters, and prepare technical memos on reporting positions
  • Assist in the maintenance of proper internal controls over ESTMA

Projects

  • Ad hoc projects, including but not limited to process improvements, due diligence support, and accounting standards implementation

About You

  • CPA, CA designation with Big 4 firm experience
  • Ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese would be an asset, but not required
  • Ability to travel as needed to operating sites
  • Experience with a consolidation system preferred
  • Knowledge of principles of consolidation and public company reporting requirements
  • Professional approach and presence
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation), excellent interpersonal and management skills, with the ability to interact with different groups and levels within the organization
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues in a public company
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and individually
  • Exceptional organizational skills sufficient to prioritize and complete assignments and projects independently, while balancing competing needs and attending to detail
  • Demonstrated, outstanding ability to work under pressure in a busy office with frequent interruptions, changing priorities and short deadlines

Pay Rate

$45/hour
