About the Opportunity

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
  • Provides support for activities relating to the post-close process of successful transactions, including assistance with review of transaction close documents
  • Assist in the planning and execution of post-close integration of subsidiaries
  • Research accounting standard to ascertain correct treatment for acquisition and general accounting transactions
  • Maintain subsidiaries general ledger by updating accounting data, preparing a trial balance, reconciling entries and resolving discrepancies
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting and elimination of post close adjustments
  • Participate in General Accounting activities, including preparing and posting journals and balace sheet account reconciliations
  • Evaluate workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies
  • Review financial and accounting records for errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and correct as required
  • Participate in external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, providing information for auditors, and creating standard, structured, automated working papers
  • Participate in developing and updating T2 Corporation tax filing Working Papers
  • Research technical and financial transactions, review and investigate financial and accounting records and resolve issues according to policies and/or best practices and recommend solutions
  • Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability
  • Assist the Finance department with various ad-hoc requests 
  • Identify inefficiencies in the process before they snowball
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate processes

About You

  • Good understanding of consolidation, acquisition, full cycle accounting and how the different accounting functions fit into the overall business and finance process
  • Strong financial modelling with natural ability reflected through routine daily simple deliverables
  • Ability to incorporate flexibility that anticipates future analytical request but simple to facilitate cover due to vacation, illness, and other sudden changes
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple demands, shifting priorities, and tight timelines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build and establish a good working relationship within the team and have a willingness to help where needed and support the group in meeting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels and effectively, with internal and external customers whilst contributing to a positive team environment
  • Must be experience in working with large volume of data and very unorganized working papers and possess the ability to summarize, analyze, and present information in a very concise and presentable format
  • Must be able to reconcile all Ledger accounts, especially challenging accounts that have not been reconciled for a considerable period, including intercompany
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to compose routine correspondence
  • Must be experienced in processing transactions in multiple currencies
  • Proven track record for improving process efficiencies and solving problems
  • Must be proactive, with the ability to meet and surpass project deadlines
  • Possess exceptional analytical reasoning skills to think problems through, thoroughly and generate solutions
  • Communicate complex material effectively in written and oral formats to various audiences
  • Direct and conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data
  • Ability to be adaptable and manage competing responsibilities and deadlines in a timely and efficient manner as an individual contributor and through your team
  • Professional accounting qualifications such like CPA, CA, ACCA, etc.
  • 5+ years' experience in as similar level or role within accounting/finance
  • Good knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities
  • Experience with audit and financial reporting requirements
  • Exposure to working in a M & A fast-paced environment
  • Public accounting firm experience, an asset
  • Previous Experience in SaaS and/or recurring revenue Industry
  • Experience with Great Plains Financials and/or NetSuite would be an asset
  • Experience with the Google Suite of Tools for Work (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.)

Pay Rate

$50-55/hour
