About the Opportunity
  • Sets strategic direction for Financial Services, providing guidance and leadership to the portfolio
  • Contributes financial insight and business planning to all matters across Financial Services
  • Identifies and provides financial leadership on innovative business opportunities to advance strategic and operational goals and objectives
  • Provides advice regarding fiscal sustainability, funding/revenue optimization, billing practices, and system implementation/harmonization
  • Provides support for the continued development of a leading customer service model, working in partnership with clinical and corporate programs across the organization while setting a positive culture for continuous improvement
  • Support and influence organization’s operations on matters related to their finance, financial reporting and monitoring of expenditures, monitoring of financial internal controls, budgeting and compliance with Ministry reporting and legislative standards
  • Assesses opportunities to streamline internal processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency of financial processes
  • Works with the leadership team, Foundations and other partners to enable the organization’s strategic plan and supports the vision, mission and values
  • Develops and recommends the annual operating and capital budget for the organization and the portfolio
  • Reviews the monthly financial and statistical reports and determines the appropriate actions
  • Responsible for the delivery of services within approved budget
  • Collaborates with peers and corporate staff and medical leadership, as necessary, in the support of financial management and advancement of business initiatives / business cases
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time
About You
  • An undergraduate degree in finance/economics with an accounting designation, preferably a CA, CPA
  • The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of progressive experience in health care and/or a similarly complex environment/sector. the successful candidate will preferably have in-depth knowledge in hospital finance, reporting and accounting practices, as well as a broader health care industry and economic knowledge
  • 3-5 years of Managerial experience, managing various teams and deliverables
  • The candidate will be an energetic, strategic thinker with the ability to see beyond the numbers
  • A relationship builder and communicator with strong analytical and decision-making skills coupled with technical capability with respect to financial reporting and planning
  • A hands-on leader, the candidate understands the complexity of supporting a complex financial organization, optimizing opportunities and have a proven track record managing multiple projects and duties at any given time
  • Extensive knowledge of Health Care sector and demonstrates an appreciation for the partnership between Finance and Operations, and the direct impact it has on patient care
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong orientation to staff and team growth and development, and
  • Ability to create a collaborative multidisciplinary working environment which fosters high morale and effective staff relationships and participation.

Pay Rate
$60/hour
