Senior Director, Financial Operations

About the Company 

Our client is a Crown Corporation, specializing in real estate, development and attractions. They are looking for a Senior Director, Financial Operations to report to the CFO.  This role will be responsible for  overseeing the Financial operations, Leadership  & Management of a large finance team on a day to day basis.

About the Opportunity 

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Executive Dashboard 
  • Co-owner responsible, in collaboration with other leads, for Annual Corporate Plan/Budget Update process for the real estate, attractions and corporate business units including completion of key financial tables which are included in the Corporate Plan submission and certain G&A overhead budgets. 
  • Responsible for timely and accurate analyses (financial, statistical, and operational) in response to internal and external requirements including Government Departments, Management and the Board of Directors. 
  •  Implements and monitors (in conjunction with business unit leads) the effectiveness of internal controls to safeguard of the Company’s assets and adherence to corporate policies. 
  • Works closely with Acquisitions Team to co-ordinate Custodian Payments (upfront, note repayments) including updating Custodian Note Repayment Schedules. 
  • Reviews and approves all electronic payments including EFT and Wire payments. 
  • Responsible for working with operational business finance leads to identify opportunities to improve operational business unit performance. 
  • Works closely with Information Technology and other stakeholders to evaluate, implement and support technology-based business system improvements. 
  • Participates in the development of and ensures compliance with corporate policies 
  • Promotes the creation of a work environment supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and job satisfaction. 
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops direct reports through regular meetings  
  • Manages the administration of the department, including relationships with external agencies and suppliers, budgeting and general administration at the operational business units. 

About You 

  • CPA  Designation (CA, CGA, CMA) 
  • Min. 10 years of experience in finance/accounting  
  • Min. 5 to 7 years of experience in a Controllership role 
  • Operational Focus and Experience 
  • Bilingualism (English/French) preferred 
  • Experience in real estate or property development  

Salary Range 

$150,000 a year - $175,000/year
