About the Opportunity 

  • Provide Customs and related logistics input to internal customers at the client affiliates regarding import/export strategies and compliance for corporate procurement and sales activities 
  • To ensure export product to our customers is within the required compliance programs of various governments that meet the client’s needs 
  • Import Goods and Services that meet the needs of the various manufacturing processes 
  • Adhere to and fulfill all employee responsibilities set out in the client’s Health and Safety Policy and Program 
  • Adhere to and fulfill all employee responsibilities set out in the Code of Business Conduct and Policies, and attend to all required related compliance training thereunder 
  • Fulfill the responsibilities as identified in the the client’s Performance Management Process 
  • Provide training to co-workers and help maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Best Practices and Job Safe Practices to ensure the transfer of knowledge to others 
  • Coordinate project requests that require input from colleagues and time sensitive day to day reporting issues, (i.e. liquidated damages by US Customs, Border Protection), in the customs area and act as a resource to the Senior Customs Analysts as required 
  • Act as the primary technical contact for Commercial, Purchasing and Traffic with respect to logistics matters for global sourcing, evaluate and provide input into new programs that often start out as trials and result in long term supply contracts 
  • Take a lead role when assigned in Canadian and US Customs audits 
  • Act as the designated customs trainer for internal customers to maximize compliance with international customs reporting requirements. (i.e. customs software changes for new programs being implemented) 
  • Take a lead role in identifying changes in Customs related policy and legislation that affects the client 
  • Act as the primary contact for customs related enquires from affiliated companies 
  • Coordinate with Mexican customs in regards to the client’s shipments, and complete Mexico monthly and quarterly reporting to MOE   

About You 

  • Undergraduate / College degree with 7+ years of job related experience 
  • Canadian Society of Customs Brokers course or equivalent is required Advanced knowledge of all manufacturing, purchasing, sales and traffic
  • processes are required 
  • Advanced knowledge of Customs Laws and Regulations is required 
  • General knowledge of GST legislation is required 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required 
  • Excellent personal computer, standard corporate software applications and applicable systems skills are required 

Hourly Rate 
$30 - $38/hour
