Senior Business Analyst - General Accounting (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Responsible for the month-end close process and assist the Director, Finance Operations and Finance Manager, General Accounting with all month end financial reporting tasks
• Internal and external audit preparations including coordination/preparation of audit working papers.  Ensure all Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on a timely basis and will be responsible for reconciling selected higher risk accounts
• Complete monthly/quarterly financial reporting including variance analysis and executive summaries
• Regularly review and improve internal controls
• Review and document financial procedures and processes
• Provide strategic/business advice
• Coordinate and deliver appropriate training and professional/technical assistance to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Work with other team members in Finance to ensure financial integrity of the General Ledger reporting structures and the Budget/Forecast computer software
• Participate in other special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned periodically.

About You

• CPA Designation
• A minimum of 5 years of full cycle accounting and financial analysis experience
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of financial reporting requirements, financial analysis, full cycle accounting and internal controls is mandatory
• Self-starter who has the ability to work both independently and/or as a team member with minimal supervision
• The successful candidate must have excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external departments
• Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and software applications, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with  Microsoft BI would be an asset
• Ability to be agile, work accurately under stressful conditions and meet tight deadlines while collaborating with a high performance team
• Ability for self-directed learning/working, as well as collaboration and teamwork

Pay Rate

$37/hour
