Our client is in the financial services industry.  They are currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Accounting Reporting and Analytics who will be responsible for the first-level review of all month-end and quarter-end reconciliations,  and financial reporting.

About the Opportunity 

  • Plan and coordinate the month-/quarter-end close process to ensure all accounting financial transactions are recorded completely 
  • Review month-/quarter-end attestation packages and variance analysis for the  accounts.  
  • Perform first-level review of financial statement note disclosures related to contributions and benefit payments.  
  • Lead the team to identify and improve reporting used to monitor the accurate and timely recording of transactions. 
  • Review reports prepared by the Analyst for the Board of Trustees or required by regulatory entities such as the Ministry of Finance. 
  • Review and timely update documentations (audit and reporting related desktop procedures, ICFR narratives, finance policies, etc.) prepared by the team for approval by management. 
  • Execute and deliver various analytical Business Intelligence reporting and build visualizations in support of operational effectiveness and business decision making. 
  • Support the transformation of manual reconciliation into automated, BI tool-based reconciliations for more accurate and timely analytical use. 
  • Process Modernization and IT System Maintenance 
  • Perform regular maintenance and upgrade testing for all systems relevant for financial reporting and analysis, including but not limited to MS Great Plains and Oracle, as required. 
  • Perform business analysis to assist the implementation of process automations in using Robotic Process Automation, as needed. 
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies by supporting the prioritization, project management and execution of modernization initiatives. 

About You 

  • CPA 
  • 5-7 years’ finance industry experience   
  • Experience with SQL and other database &  BI tools (MS Access, Qlikview) an asset 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Planner, Outlook) 

Salary Range 

$90,000 to $100,000/year
