Reporting to the Manager, Management and Financial Reporting the Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting ensures the accuracy, completeness and timely completion of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities; whilst keeping in touch with industry’s best practices. The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting also, recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvements in the department's efficiency and services performed

About the Opportunity

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintain subsidiaries general ledger by updating accounting data, preparing a trial balance, reconciling entries and resolving discrepancies
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting and elimination of post close adjustments
  • Prepare and review period and quarterly adjusting journal entries and reconciliations
  • Prepare and review work related to the preparation of the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Prepare and review work related to the preparation of legal entity financial reporting
  • Review and analyze financial statements of subsidiary and corporate companies
  • Evaluate workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies
  • Analyze financial data and generate monthly trend reports and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial statement accuracy
  • Review financial and accounting records for errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and correct as required
  • Participate in external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, providing information for auditors, and creating standard, structured, automated working papers
  • Create, plan, and prepare financial models and other ad hoc reporting as requested
  • Develop and implement a fixed asset tracking and reconciliation process including monthly depreciation and continuity schedules
  • Assist auditors as required for the preparation of financial analyses and reports
  • Research technical and financial transactions, review and investigate financial and accounting records and resolve issues according to policies and/or best practices and recommend solutions
  • Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability
  • Play a key role in process and system implementation projects
  • Assist the Finance department with various ad-hoc requests 
  • Research R&D credit opportunities and implement processes

About You

  • CPA, CA, ACCA, etc. is required
  • 5+ years' experience in as similar level or role within accounting/finance
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities
  • Experience with audit and financial reporting requirements
  • Good knowledge of MS Office Suite

Pay Rate

$40/hour
