Senior Accountant (Closed)

About the Company

Our client is a production company. They are currently looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for all financial reporting in Canada. Working closely with the Financial Controller- Canada, this role will oversee Canada's periodic schedules and manage all reporting.

About the Opportunity

• Produce reliable financial statements and management reports on a monthly basis
• Reconcile inter-company accounts with LDN, NY and India (invoicing, etc.)
• Reconcile and account for fixed assets
• Analyze variances from budgets and provide explanations for these variances
• Prepare the entries for accrued and prepaid and others, at each end of the month
• Distribute month-end reports
• Ensure that all project costs are accounted for accurately
• Calculate revenue recognition for each project at each month end
• Participate in the preparation of the company's budgets and forecasts
• Explain variances ensuring department heads are informed if there are any issues
• Management of bank accounts including the initiation of payments and deposits
• Produce monthly bank reconciliations
• Manage the corporate credit card program
• Participate with the CFO-Canada in the preparation and monitoring of monthly cash flow forecasts
• File returns and remit GST and QST
• Make monthly installment remittances
• Manage Statistics Canada surveys (complete surveys, assist and ensure they are completed)
• Reconcile balance sheet items each month and make adjusting entries if necessary
• Ensure that reports, schedules and all other related documents are correctly completed and submitted on time
• Produce ad hoc reports and analyzes on request
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are used consistently and that best practices are maintained and followed at all times

About You

• CPA
• 3 to 5 years of business experience (month-end, financial statements, management reports, etc.)
• Knowledge of accounting systems (D365 an asset). Great Plains an asset (immigrating from Great Plains to D365)
• Bilingualism is an asset

Salary Range

$85,000 - $90,000/year
