About the Opportunity

• Calculate Revenue, Cost of Sales, Deferred & Accrued Income, and reconcile WIP balances for Long-term Contracts (accounted under Percentage of completion method)
• Calculate Revenue and Cost of Sales for other jobs (recognized on dispatch basis)
• Prepare inventory reports, review & rectify inventory transactions in subsidiary ledger and calculate Inventory Provision as per policy
• Responsible for the month-end close process and running month-end reports as per schedule
• Process journal entries, maintain proper workings/backups
• Handle fixed asset and other balance sheet reconciliations and make periodic depreciation/amortization entries
• Involved in preparation of all the year-end audit requirements, and work closely with auditors during the annual audit
• Timeliness and accuracy of daily, weekly and monthly revenue tracking reports
• Produce budgets, revisions, and forecasts in line with group-company requirements
• Prepare bank reconciliation report to ensure that the bank statements reconcile with DSI and all the direct bank payments, receipts and withdrawals, and cleared and outstanding cheques are all accounted for in DSI
• Ensure Accounts Payable, Receivable, Cash and other balance sheet accounts and relevant schedules are adequately reconciled on periodic basis
• Preparation of the Statutory Accounts and tax working papers
• Assisting the Controller with setting up processes/templates and ensure effective and timely communication with other departments
• Analyzing data & templates with creativity and innovation in mind; able to view big-picture scenario/requirement and relate to finer transaction details
• Any other reasonable tasks given by the Controller

About You

• 4+ years’ progressive experience working in finance and/or accounting teams
• CPA designated OR currently pursuing; internationally qualified CA/CPA with relevant experience also to be considered
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (under ASPE and UK GAAP); specifically, Percentage of Completion method for revenue recognition, balancing of Inventory subsidiary ledgers to General Ledger, WIP accounting entry flow
• Experience of dealing with Inventory matters in a manufacturing environment
• Good working knowledge of mainstream ERP systems, like JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle
• Experience on working with DSI software is a plus point
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (V/H/X-Lookups, Pivot Tables, SUM/COUNT-Ifs, linking/updating from multiple Excel files, MS Access Database Connectivity and Data extraction)
• Demonstrable experience of dealing with large volume data on Excel files and ability to create and maintain complex Excel templates
• Working knowledge of other MS Office products like Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience of documenting systems/processes as operating manuals is an asset
• Good communicator and able to initiate conversations and fetch requisite information from other sources.
• The ability to thrive and work under pressure in a busy and deadline driven environment; at times having to deal with multiple priorities simultaneously
• Willing to work extra hours to meet deadlines, if and when required

Pay Rate

$40/hour
