The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day to day accounting and treasury of the business. The individual will facilitate our month end close process and bring meaningful information to our key stakeholders. This role will facilitate the month end close and reporting process including the monthly operating report and variance analysis and be assigned special projects as required. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist in supervising the finance team and bring improvements to our existing processes.

About the Opportunity

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting and treasury: maintain integrity of the general ledger, manage working capital to ensure efficient use of resources, review and approve daily transaction; and provide oversight over cash management including payment processing and reconciliation
  • Month End Close: perform account reconciliations, prepare month end financial analysis and reporting to key stakeholders, improve the efficiency of our month end close cycle
  • Report Meaningful Actionable Information: communicate timely and accurate financial results including causes for variances against forecast/budget/prior year and forward looking implications
  • Provide actionable information that will impact the company’s financial results, drive overall performance and accountability for results
  • Internal Controls, Audit and Tax Compliance: provide oversight and improvements to the company’s internal control processes
  • Manage external auditors and successful completion of the year-end audit, ensure sales tax and corporate tax compliance
  • Support ERP Improvement Initiatives: develop a thorough understanding of the company’s ERP system including its financial tracking and reporting capabilities
  • Endeavor to improve the company’s systems and security over information knowledge

About You

  • University degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA) 
  • Minimum 3+ years in a financial role with audit experience (senior level from a mid/large firm)
  • Strong knowledge of audit and accounting, preferably in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent time management skills (ability to multitask and manage multiple customer demands)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), someone who is equally comfortable communicating with senior management and line worker
  • Proven ability to lead projects and motivate employees
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office applications – an Excel expert
  • Ability to multi-task with multiple deadlines and prioritize crucial deliverables
  • Preparation/ review of monthly account analysis, including reconciliations, gathering backup documentation and referencing
  • An interest in Health and Wellness

Pay Rate

$80,000/year
