Our client is a leading professional in the construction industry. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their organization and be responsible for the complete payroll function for multiple companies including data entry of employee time sheets.

About the Opportunity

• Government remittance calculations and timely remittances of HST, WSIB, Union, EHT, Corporate tax, Benefits
• Create and manage Projects/Jobs/Work Orders in the system
• Create and manage Purchase Orders
• Coding and processing of Vendor Invoices (Accounts Payable)
• Complete Accounts Payable Cheque Runs to pay vendors, government remittances
• Processing Customer Billing and posting cash applications (receiving Accounts Receivable payments)
• Reporting: This would be limited to running various reports in the system such as Aged Accounts Receivable, Aged Accounts Payable, Purchase Order Listing, Job/Project/Work Order Reports, etc.
• Perform Month End Journal Entries – Revenue and Cost Accruals
• Perform Bank Reconciliations and  other Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
• Review Income Statement, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Statement for accuracy
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for various companies
• Setup Annual Budgets/Forecasts

About You

• 5 + years of full cycle bookkeeping/accounting experience with technical accounting skills
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting and pursuing CPA designation an asset
• Proficient in Excel
• Previous experience in the contracting/construction/distribution industry is an asset

Salary

$65,000 - $75,000/year
