About the Opportunity

  • Timely and accurate posting of multiple types of transactions in the Company’s investment system for both public and private securities e.g trades, corporate actions, etc.
  • Review investment and trade data received for input from multiple sources; raise any questions and investigate when data for input does not look correct
  • Conduct analysis, investigate possible error and make corrections to investments and trade data that have already been input within documented guidelines
  • Review forecasted cash flows that have been brought to the transaction management area from the reconciliation area as they do not reconcile to the bank
  • Input investment and trade data related to complicated investments from multiple investment offices into the systems as requested by our International Managers
  • Determine accuracy on trades when they don’t agree with the in-house accounting system, using different accrual methods
  • Review and monitor various data elements for control and integrity to the core securities data and information
  • Update multiple financial and reporting related fields on trade and investment records as advised
  • Identify areas of opportunity through analysis and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure that senders of electronic document instructions are from the approved signature list
  • Provide assistance to other team members and management team when required
  • Participate in inter-department cross training to ensure continuity of service
  • Adhere to established SOX documentation and controls
  • Assist with Internal and External Audits
  • Work within existing procedures and processes ensuring clear and concise documentation is created and maintained
  • Additional duties, as assigned

About You

  • Post secondary education or minimum 2-3 years equivalent work experience in a securities operations environment, including securities data input
  • Canadian Securities Course is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge and current understanding of securities instruments
  • Excellent understanding of foreign corporate action
  • Good understanding of settlements, foreign exchange and banking processes
  • Basic Bloomberg knowledge/experience
  • Intermediate MS Office especially MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of current and new technology to support front, middle and back office asset management requirements is an asset
  • Strong conceptual skills, diagnostic, analytical and problem solving skills and ability to exercise flexibility and judgment
  • Demonstrated initiative and good team player
  • Fast learner with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to follow process and adhere to guidelines

Pay Rate

$16 - $18/hour
