About the Opportunity

  • Full cycle accounting support for a portfolio of properties including evaluating budget performance for operations, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Collaborate seamlessly with operations, corporate accounting, payroll, acquisitions, financial analysis, and accounts payable, to answer property accounting queries and provide insights
  • Contribute to portfolio-wide areas, such as executive reporting, investor/lender packages, property tax, retail, and loan requirements
  • Perform monthly variance analysis versus budget, and deep-dive into queries from operations
  • Assist with audit engagements on behalf of equity partner investors and other authorities
  • Assess accounting and tax implications of US real estate transactions (acquisitions, refinancing, and disposals)
  • Prepare year-end schedules and review US partnership tax returns for investors
  • Critically assess current processes and implement innovative recommendations, either on an individual or team basis
  • Identify, lead, and drive the execution of process improvement projects embracing technology that, either reduces the reporting cycle, improves accuracy, or adds new value to existing responsibilities
  • Demonstrate curiosity for technology and encourage team members to implement process improvements, and data-driven approaches to problem solving
  • Work on portfolio-wide initiatives to build new reporting and analysis

About You

  • Enrolled in CPA or other financial designation program
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting/audit/financial analysis
  • Experience in real estate or asset management would be an asset
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, advanced formulas)
  • Experience in VBA and SQL would be great assets
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic work environment and taking on new challenges
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to learn new skills
  • Strong communication and excellent time management skills
  • Well-developed attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Passion for finance and the data-driven approach to decision making
  • Aptitude to leverage technology to gain efficiencies and improve processes
  • Ability to work in a team as well as work autonomously to deliver results



$55,000 - $60,000/year
