About the Opportunity

  • Work as part of the team responsible for the financial accounting functions
  • Ensure all accounting records related to all properties are kept up to date and in compliance within guidelines established by the governing bodies and/or by the company
  • Prepare & review Operating Statement
  • Maintain accounting ledgers & other financial reporting for assigned properties on a timely basis
  • Provide support and work closely with the Property Directors and Administrators with any tenant or financial situations & inquiries
  • Reconciling various reports, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger balances
  • Prepare Monthly, Quarterly & Annual working papers
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, accruals and month-end/recurring journal entries
  • Prepare interim and year-end audit package and liaising with auditors as required
  • Responsible for the management of Accounts Receivable for assigned properties, duties include but not limited to
    • Verify accuracy and completeness of Tenant agreement
    • Maintain monthly/recurring Journal Entries
    • Posting & reconciling deposit payments
    • Review & post sale invoice
    • Responsible for processing tenant rent increases
    • Monthly rent roll reconciliations
    • Assist in providing coding for billing processing
    • Investigating and resolving any discrepancies
    • Reconcile and maintenance of AR ledger
  • Responsible for the management of Accounts Payable for assigned properties, duties include but not limited to
    • Ensure appropriate coding of expenses
    • Verify and post entered invoices/credit memos
    • Review and validate cheque payments
    • Reconcile and maintenance of AP ledger
  • Perform & Cover other duties/special assignments as required
  • Perform other general accounting & clerical/administrative duties
  • Work with team members to coordinate responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and ensure all important deadlines are met
  • Maintain an effective and professional working relationship with peers and staff
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners
  • Act within company policies and procedures, established accounting guidelines, and government regulations

About You

  • 3 to 5+ years of property accounting experience
  • Able to process both AP and AR
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Can bring new ideas to accounting processes
  • Navision Experience an asset
  • Strong Excel an asset
  • Retirement community property accounting experience an asset

Pay Rate

$22 - $25/hour
