About the Opportunity

  • Manage multiple projects of medium to high risk, varied length and different complexities
  • Manage all assigned projects through their lifecycle
  • Act as an advisor to provide leadership and advice on how steer the project teams in the right direction
  • Work hard to deliver project goals while operating with full transparency
  • Manage risks which includes knowing when to communicate to the right people at the right time, provide detailed updates to stakeholders while ensuring the team members have what they need to be successful
  • Lead multi-functional on-site, off-site and virtual project teams to help them address issues and perform at a very high level
  • Using RAID, facilitate meetings, document minutes and follow up on risks, action items, issues and decisions
  • Complete project evaluations, velocity metrics and assessment of results to the key benefits and performance indicators
  • Support PMO in the creation, maintenance and enhancement of Project Management Methodology / Standards and Practices in an ever-evolving environment.
  • Facilitate planning meetings with all levels of the organization to understand the scope of work, team player responsibilities and dependencies to set expectations in an effort to enabling project delivery on time
  • Effectively manage project budgets to ensure approval of funding and be disciplined in cost management
  • Engage stakeholders, vendor and manage governance forums to ensure timely, transparent and effective decision making

About You

  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) is preferred
  • PMP certification is desired but not required
  • Certifications in Agile, Scrum Master, Business Process Improvement or Change Management is an asset
  • Experience in Financial Services preferably within the Banking sector
  • At least 7 years’ experience managing projects throughout the entire project life cycle
  • Good working knowledge of testing strategy development, planning, defect reporting and test case design
  • Experience managing internal and external compliance requirements, financial reporting, and service administration
  • Strong experience in Agile is required along with some exposure to Waterfall, Iterative and Incremental
  • Experience managing large scale On-Prem to Cloud migration projects is require
  • Experience managing Data Warehouse/Data Centre migration projects is highly desired
  • Strong people management in order to manage expectations at all levels is required
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, MS Office Tools, business systems, technology infrastructure, software development, data warehousing, data centres and related concepts/terminology are also assets
  • Ability to step in where required for you to take charge and work independently is required
  • Proven track record of delivery in both Business and Technology projects, with a focus on digital
  • Good time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written is required
