Principal Solution Architect - 6 Month Contract (Closed)

Our client is currently hiring a Principal Solution Architect on a 6-month contract. In this role you will have exposure to the client’s payment’s ecosystem, pine on resiliency on how to improve on Apps and Infrastructure, then input on the design and conceptual solution of a transaction monitoring solution providing status and visibility into the transaction lifecycle. You finish this engagement with an in-depth understanding of major bank architecture and payments resiliency.

About the Opportunity

• In a principal capacity, you will review and summarize solution architectures associated with in-scope payment types
• Support the mapping of incident, outage and problem findings across the relevant solution architectures
• Identify issues, risks and opportunities in the solution architecture to improve operational resiliency of in-scope payment types
• Develop recommendations related to solution architecture improvements that enhance operational resiliency
• Provide architectural input to solution alternatives and recommendations related to a payment transaction monitoring solution
• Developing the blueprint for the migration and consolidation of applications.
• Define standards, platforms, best practices, frameworks, tools and methodologies for project delivery
• Providing reference architectures and models to the implementation teams
• Assessing costs, and dependencies for migration
• Assessing and evaluating suitability of 3rd party solutions
• Developing suitable timelines and milestones for achieving the goals outlined in the Roadmap
• Assessing current state environment and providing options to achieve goals outlined in the Roadmap
• Identifying risks and mitigation strategies
• Developing and maintaining appropriate artefacts and documents describing decisions and solutions
• Communicating with key stakeholders including Information Services, Systems Development, Technology Services and Security Services
• Contributing technical designs to artefacts including Solution Design Document; Functional Requirements
• Set the technology direction by recommending specific technologies to pursue, suggesting training and staff development activities as needed
• Design and prototype solutions driven by both strategic product direction as well as more immediate tactical customer requirements based on customer issues and feedback
• Work with technical services team and customers on more complex bank customer payment initiatives
• Work with product management team regarding future enhancements to bank products and services
• Take ownership and prioritize work on multiple projects and tasks

About You

• A university degree in Computer Science or related field of study
• 10+ years experience in banking with a focus on Payments locally or globally
• Experience with RACI
• Extensive experience and knowledge of banking environments and technologies both legacy and cutting edge
• Lean on your experience and project history to make significant recommendations on payment solutions
• Strong knowledge of data flow, infrastructure and application flow and communication
• Strong ability to engage with users, and stakeholders
• Organized, self starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
• In depth understanding of network infrastructure, systems data flows, etc.
• Enterprise environment experience
• Experienced with program/projects involving complex integration of different types of technologies/platforms
• Project management experience highly desirable
• Experience in architecting/developing systems in a team environment
• Experienced with all aspects of architecture including application, data, security and infrastructure
• Strong leadership skills, comfortable managing large cross functional technical teams and ability to define, influence and impact the technical direction
• Ability to provide effective leadership in managing issues
• Ability to quickly evaluate options, make decisions and execute within a high demand environment
• Clean criminal and credit history
