About the Opportunity

Benefits Administration:

  • Responsible for supporting the Benefits Manager in day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HCSA, wellness program
  • Responsible for benefits eligibility reporting for all employee groups
  • Respond to escalated benefit inquiries from employees and resolve issues with the support of our benefits carrier and consulting partner while demonstrating a high level of customer service and support
  • Provide responsive and timely communication to internal customers (phone, email and in person) and external partners and vendors
  • Assist with maintenance of employee benefits files and benefit records within HRIS system
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
  • Assist Benefits Manager in completing benefits reporting requirements and ensuring distribution of required employee notices
  • Assist Benefits Manager with all compliance matters audits, annual filings, award/commission calculations, etc
  • Review weekly and monthly invoices for accuracy for all group insurance policies as received by partners and vendors, and maintain logs of data relative to premiums, claims and costs
  • Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
  • Partner with the Benefits Manager to execute the annual Benefits Annual Re-Enrollment process
  • Quarterly communication and management on DPSP enrollments
  • Pull reports and perform audits to verify accuracy and catch data discrepancies
  • Provide summary reports to management
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, and summary plan descriptions
  • Provide training and support to employees
  • Participate in Benefit plan harmonization strategy and planning
  • Other duties as assigned

Pension Administration:

  • Responsible for supporting the Benefits Manager in day-to-day administration of employee Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension programs
  • Monitor employee pension eligibility for both union and non-union groups and communicate with employees
  • Assist with annual audit with external auditors
  • Update HRIS system and communicate with payroll and finance
  • Annual filing with FSRA
  • Work with Partners on annual session for DB members

Leave of Absence Administration:

  • Gather all relevant information for new leaves of absence
  • Lead day-to-day administration for disability management, supporting employees on STD and LTD working through our partners and with management
  • Regularly communicating with HR team, payroll, HRIS and management
  • Share updates weekly and monthly with leadership
  • Draft and send standardized initial leave letters and packets, as well as other follow up letters
  • Calendar and follow up on all required leave documentation to ensure all necessary documents are received on a timely basis; check for completeness and seek clarification when necessary
  • Maintain a log for employees on the status of the leave and benefit payment responsibility during leave
  • Provide advice to managers on how to manage employee leaves and medical issues in a manner consistent with Company policy and legal responsibilities
  • Enter employee data and status changes into the HRIS system and communicate with payroll
  • Perform frequent leave of absence audits to ensure data entry is accurate
  • Work with Payroll and Benefits to ensure employees on applicable Leaves are paid accurately and are appropriate enrolled in benefits (as applicable)

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related business field. Will consider additional, equivalent work experience in a related field
  • CHRP and CEBS professional designations considered a plus

Pay Rate

$24 - $26/hour
