About The Opportunity
- Administer Semi-Monthly payrolls for USA & Canada with ADP Workforce Now and resolve any issues that arise
- Ensures payroll compliance with internal policies and process and regulatory requirements
- Accurately maintain payroll data including, but not limited, to information related to employee new hires, terminations, commissions, expenses, benefits, vacation and sick days
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for all payroll accounts as part of the month-end close cycle
- Completes fiscal and calendar year-end processes and reporting requirements, including records of employment, workers compensation returns, T4, W2, and reconcile all payroll year-end tax summaries (Federal & Provincial and State), Provincial Health Tax Returns, and Workers Compensation Year End Returns
- Assist HR & Payroll Manager with the day to day functions of Human resources including but not limited to recruitment, training, WSIP, and labour relations
- Benefits administration in accordance with policy and plan
- Complete posting and reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts
- Assist Director Finance with internal and external auditors
- Respond effectively to requests payroll information by government agencies
- Work effectively with various departments to provide solutions and follow-up
- Tracks and monitors Time & Attendance usage to ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and legislation
- Assist HR & Payroll Manager interpret and provide advice for payroll policies, procedures and best practices
- Track and pay out vacation, sick leave and personal leave in accordance with the employment contract
- Track and calculate sales commissions and incentives in accordance with the employment contract
About You
- A post-secondary diploma/degree in accounting, business, human resources or related field
- Completion of C.P.A. Payroll Administrator Certificate such as P.C.P. Payroll Compliance Practitioner or C.P.M. Certified Payroll Manager
- 5-7 years of related experience in both US and Canadian payroll
- Experience with ADP-WFN is a MUST
- Highly organized with an eye for detail, ability to work independently and strong time management skills
- Experience with various technology platforms and software; payroll systems, MS Office with an advanced ability working with Excel
- Excellent understanding and application of payroll, employment laws and regulations (i.e. Income Tax Act, Provincial Employment Standards Acts, Personal Information Protection Act, etc.), CRA and IRS, together with research ability for all jurisdictions/countries of operation
- IT literate, specifically demonstrated knowledge of MS Office and excel in particular
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills both oral and written
- Demonstrated ability as a problem solver who takes initiative and is solutions-oriented
- Ability to maintain confidentially is mandatory
- Ability to prioritize, plan and strong sense of urgency
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to handle several tasks at once
- Excellent with numbers and a high level of accuracy
- Good writing and communications skills
- Exceptional reporting and analytical skills
- Strong advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment
- Liaise with all levels of the organization in a professional, courteous manner
Pay Rate
$40 - $45/hour
