Payroll Specialist (Closed)

About the Opportunity

Payroll Specialist must have strong technical skills, proficiency with computerised payroll processing systems. At least three years of Canadian payroll experience and a college diploma. The Canadian Payroll Association’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) accreditation would be an asset. Must have excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• Processing Canadian bi-weekly, hourly and salary payroll, including unionized employees for 500+
• Process special payroll amounts and update systems for new hires, employee changes, transfers, terminations, etc
• Prepare and distribute T2200's, T4 balancing and management and year-end summary processing
• Manage all government and WSIB/WCB/EHT remittances
• Manage all RRSP/TFSA and Garnishment remittances
• Contributing to the accuracy and integrity of the payroll function within the company
• Provide excellent internal customer service
• Other finance duties as assigned

About You

• Minimum 3+ years full cycle payroll experience
• PCP Certification would be an asset
• Experience processing payroll for unionized employees
• Experience in processing payroll for seasonal and part-time workers
• Understanding of current payroll legislation and Employment Standards Act
• Construction payroll experience would be an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs -specifically Advanced Excel skills
• Always ensures confidentiality to the highest standard
• Meeting deadlines and take ownership of your work
• Knowledge and experience with union reporting and remittances
• Knowledge and experience with source deductions reporting and remittances
• Knowledge and experience with WSIB reporting and remittances
• Preferably with Experience with Jonas system and CMiC software
• Strong communication telephone skills when dealing with verifying of employment

Salary

$60,000 - $65,000/year
