About the Opportunity
- Accurately enter, process and balance the bi-weekly payroll earnings and adjustments
- Process payroll information including but not limited to master file changes, earnings, department, leaves, new hire set up and terminations
- Conduct regular analysis of payroll data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Partner and lead process improvement initiatives to ensure efficiency is an ongoing focus for the payroll function
- Process and balance payroll expenses, deductions and adjustments
- Provide a timely response from inquiries from Finance, HR, managers and employees
- Responsible for the distribution of all pay statements, ROEs and forms as required
- Create and maintain accurate payroll records and mail correspondences for immediate access
- Reconciliation of payroll entries to the sub ledgers
- Provide guidance to the Payroll Coordinator
- Provide back up to the Payroll Manager
- Provide support for project work and other duties as required
About You
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in full-cycle payroll processing in organizations with over 1000 employees
- Post-secondary education with a focus on Administration and or Accounting preferred
- Canadian Payroll Association - PCP is required
- General knowledge of Canadian and US employment law and payroll legislation, including multi-provincial payroll requirements
- Experience with and or working knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce is required
- Experience with unionized and or manufacturing payroll environments will have an advantage
Salary
$65,000 - $75,000/year
