About the Company

Our client is a leader in the hospitality industry. They are looking to add a Payroll Specialist to their team to be responsible for payroll and all related duties.

About the Opportunity

• Semi-monthly payroll for approximately 350 employees across Canada & US. Audit new hire/transfers/rate increases and terminations of employee data entered into the payroll system to authorized back up
• Validation of termination pay out calculations and request Record Of Employment from service provider
• Submit payroll in an outsourced environment respecting the established deadlines
• Maintain EDB matrix of earnings / tax codes and ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Maintain payroll procedures manual and process documentation in accordance with company policy, audit controls and regulatory requirements
• Administer payroll deduction programs, ensuring deductions from employees are accurate and submitted on a timely basis
• Annual audit and distribution of employee T4s and W2s
• Monthly/quarterly WSIB, WCB remittances
• Annual reconciliations of WSIB, WCB and EHT
• Respond to government inquiries
• Registration with local employment tax offices when required
• Maintaining highest level of confidentiality and accuracy at all times
• Prepare and post semi-monthly journal entry to the General Ledger
• Prepare payroll related balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Compiling and summarizing payroll reports on a required basis
• Liaise effectively with Finance, Compensation & Benefits and Corporate Talent & Culture departments to ensure accuracy of payroll

About You

• Diploma in Payroll and/or PCP Designation
• CPM is an asset
• Canada and US payroll experience
• Knowledgeable about federal and provincial / state payroll regulations and requirements

Salary

$70,000 - $80,000/year
