About the Opportunity
Responsible to manage and control all process and practices associated with payroll and benefits administration for the full organization.
System Development:
- Determine, design and develop systems required to meet current and future organizational demands
- Direct the collection and management and dissemination of data
- Continually monitor system for efficiency and accuracy
- Interface with payroll provider to solve issues. Prime contact with provider for urgent situations
- Determine upgrade requirements and work with payroll development, to test and implement. Work with payroll team to create an implementation plan and communication with users and various stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and solve system issues as feasible
- Develop all access, background systems and authorization protocols
- Consistently seek system improvements that will increase accuracy, efficiency and user experience
- Plan and communicate changes/edits/upgrades to stakeholders
Payroll Administration:
- Plan, manage and oversee all facets of the payroll administrative processes by creating and overseeing production through others.
- Develop and work with others to implement and maintain process, practice, time frames associated with best practice payroll administration. Create calendar of activities and monitor adherence to process, time frames and accuracy
- Monitor biweekly payroll production, test accuracy, set expectations and sign off transmission
- Primarily responsible to monitor and ensure compliance with all payroll legislation applicable across the business. Establish processes to research, monitor and ensure appropriate changes are made and communication are required occurs
- Oversee the training and communication respecting all users in the system, staff, management and executive
- Ensure consistent validation of records; regular processes engaged to update
- Determine and oversee all filings are made in a timely accurate manner
- Plan, set process and ensure implementation in support of mass change activities, Record Of Employment production, t4 production, month and year end documentation
- Complete executive and board related payroll activities
- Ensure cross functional stability through department including staff education and cross training
- Consistently seek and implement enhancements to payroll service that will increase efficiency, improve the user experience and provide advantage where feasible
Reporting:
- Work with internal partners to ascertain requirements, timing and content. Develop, adjust and oversee as required
- Oversee timing, content and accuracy of all external reporting
Group benefit administration:
- Oversee the administration of group medical benefits programs, including accuracy of set up, data, enrollment, data changes
- Participate with VP on the development, monitoring and processes associated with group medical benefit
- Ensure interface with payroll system practice
- Reconcile monthly premium payment to member statements; prepares documentation for remittance
- Contact the agent of record to support resolution of issue
About You
- Post-secondary degree in a related field
- Minimum 5 years comparable management level experience
- Experience in the establishment of best practice and management of payroll administration teams
- Significant proficiency with Ceridian Dayforce payroll system is required
- Previous benefit administration experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Pay Rate
$35 - $40/hour
