About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Payroll Manager who will support the various maintenance and administration of payroll and accounting processing in the Ceridian Payroll Environment. Reporting to Senior Manager of Finance, the incumbent will not only be responsible for full cycle payroll processing, supervising the Payroll Analyst, but also taking the lead in the implementation of new payroll system Dayforce and other projects as assigned
- Full cycle payroll processing in Ceridian Payroll
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll for mostly salaried and some hourly employees within two separate legal entities
- Process salary increases, bonuses, etc. in accordance with company policies and in conjunction with Human Resources
- Ensure compliance to all employment legislation and regulatory guidelines such as EHT, CPP/QPP, QPIP, CSST, EI, Income Tax, and benefit contributions, etc. including any Federal and Provincial Reporting and filing
- Identify and enhance continuous process improvement related to payroll processing and related reporting
- Maintain up to date employee files by processing changes such as new hires, terminations, salary increases etc and ensuring confidentiality
- Administer year-end payroll processing, tax forms and filings as needed
- Keep current with federal/provincial legislation and changes, along with best practices in order to ensure the payroll is compliant and effective
- Supervise Payroll Analyst and ensure proper process documentation are in place and key payroll functions are backed up with the payroll team
- Provide financial information to facilitate preparation of the annual budget, forecasts, intercompany and other reports
- Ongoing collaboration with the HR department and related companies, payroll service providers, employees, auditors and other stakeholders
- Lead the implementation of new HR and payroll system Dayforce for payroll functions and other projects as assigned
- Support accounting team as required including reconciliations, reports, requisitions, month end close and year end audit
About You
- University degree or college diploma required
- Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification required
- Experience with and strong knowledge of Ceridian's or Dayforce payroll system
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience administering Canadian payroll and benefits
- Quebec payroll experience is a must
- Excellent communication, organizational and effective interpersonal skills
- 2-5 years supervisory experience preferred
- Flexible and adaptable to change in a dynamic environment
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Excel Word, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, combined with a good business sense
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and process change, and implement plans to address those changes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to proactively follow up on identified issues and work toward resolution
Salary
$1,10,000/year
