Payroll Coordinator - 3 Months (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Develops, implements and oversees the entire payroll and benefits administration process from timekeeping policies, payroll & benefits procedures and best practices to disbursement of funds
  • Interprets, applies and maintains current knowledge of all regulations, employment laws and other requirements guiding the execution of payroll
  • Liaises with other departments, employees and managers to resolve escalated payroll and benefits issues
  • Provides requested payroll and employee information reports to HQ in a timely and accurate manner
  • Leads payroll & benefits projects including policy, process and technology changes to increase accuracy & efficiency
  • Understands Human Resources policies and assists in the implementation & management of the HRIS system
  • Responds to various inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducts problem solving and continuous improvement on all payroll and benefits related processes
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned as required

About You

  • 3-5 years of payroll and benefits experience for multiple provinces
  • Significant experience with payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now) and data manipulation using Microsoft Excel, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (Peoplesoft)
  • Experience using an automated time capture system (time and attendance system)
  • Self-motivated leader of change
  • College or university degree in accounting, business administration, human resources or a related field
  • Member of the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset
  • Strong computer and system skills: Must have intermediate capabilities in Excel and relevant ERP systems
  • Communication skills; capable of clearly presenting analysis and rationale to other team members
  • Ability to clearly communicate with people at all levels of the business and to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Organizational skills; can manage multiple tasks to meet objectives and able to execute to plan
  • Detail Oriented; strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Customer-focused with sense of urgency to meet critical deadlines
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
