About the Opportunity
- Run semi-monthly payroll for the head office location using Ceridian Insync, which includes a separate property management entity
- HRIS administrator for the head office using Workday and HRD; make updates/changes as required
- Prepare payroll journal entries for accounting teams
- Manage Manulife RRSP, DPSP and health, dental and LTD, Life and AD&D, and WSIB filings; includes monthly reconciliations/remittances, answering employees’ questions, making changes, and submit enrolment forms online
- Annually calculate auto taxable adjustments for the employees with company cars, prepare salary review sheet for managers, and issue dividend payments to shareholders
- Annually prepare and process T4, make bonus payments including RRSP/DPSP contributions, and issue T5 and NR4 as required
- Perform all aspects of accounting functions for multiple companies/charities (TBD), which includes booking journal entries for bank transactions, reconciling the bank accounts, invoices payment, HST filing, tax installments, and booking journal entries for all other transactions on a monthly basis
- Provide Quarterly Templates and all working papers for these entities for the quarterly consolidation and year-end reporting; dealing with external auditors as required
- Provide tax working papers to external providers for preparation of the tax provisions in financial statements as well as preparation of the tax returns, answering questions/providing additional workpapers
- Provide company information to tax officers for quarterly shareholder reporting
- Issue donation receipts and information to family members
- Prepare year-end accounting working paper for 5 charities, 10 JV companies and other entities, which is provided to external auditors for annual audits
- Provide working papers for tax returns for various companies, coordinate with various accountants to obtain other tax information to complete tax returns for companies
- Prepare T183 & capital tax returns
About You
- 3+ years of experience in all aspects of payroll administration/benefits function
- Payroll Administration Association accreditation
- CGA designation
- Knowledge and ability to with external payroll software – Ceridian/TBD
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks) to run general ledger systems and ability to book accounting entries and produce workpapers and financial statements
- Organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels within the organization and external service providers
Salary
$60,000 - $70,000/year
