Payroll Administrator - 6 Month Contract to Permanent (Closed)

About the Opportunity

  • Provide assistance in processing 2 weekly (US and Canada), and 1 biweekly payrolls for all salaried, hourly and commission employees
  • Payroll/Benefit Reconciliation
  • New hire set up/data entry, process leaves and terminations (Web Record of Employment)
  • Process and balance payroll deductions and adjustments
  • Provide a timely response from inquiries from Finance, HR, managers and employees
  • Create and maintain accurate payroll records and mail correspondences for immediate access
  • Provide support and be the backup for Payroll/HR Manager
  • Provide support for ad-hoc work and other duties as required
  • Maintain electronic filing system
  • Assist in the development of analytics used to evaluate recruitment and payroll trends
  • Support employees and managers with day to day questions regarding payroll, and all other related functions
  • Assist with our Recruitment system – Data Entry
  • Assistance with other HR related tasks to support the HR team
  • Assistance with other accounting tasks such as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to support the Finance team

About You

  • Knowledge of report creation/ maintenance in Crystal
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL is an asset
  • Experience with US tax-filing (NM, CO, MI, FL and WI) is an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications with adaptability to learn new applications
  • Confidentiality and tact in dealing with personnel payroll information
  • Highly organized, extremely accurate and work well under pressure
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and a team player
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, improve existing processes and adapt to change
  • 1-3 years of hands on experience in full cycle payroll processing
  • Post-secondary Education with a focus on Payroll Administration and/or Accounting is preferred
  • Canadian Payroll Association - PCP designation is an asset
  • General knowledge of Canadian and US employment law, payroll legislation and accounting principles
  • Experience with PDS/Vista payroll system and or working knowledge of in house payroll system is an asset
  • Database Management is an asset
  • Experience with high volume payroll environment is an asset
  • Experience working with multiple Province and States payroll is an asset

Pay Rate

$23 - $25/hour
