Our client is an  P&C Insurance company looking for an Manager of Corporate Accounting who will be the right hand and most important person to the VP Finance.

About the Opportunity

• Participate in the IFRS17 implementation project
• Lead special projects to improve process efficiency and performance
• Participate in maintenance and enhancement of finance control environment
• Participate in financial close processes under US GAAP and IFRS, including:
• Quarter end closes and associated reconciliations and analytics
• Lead in the management of cash, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• External and internal audit and SOX liaison, including management of the schedule and information requirements
• Lead in implementation of accounting, tax and regulatory changes
• Collaborate with internal and external business partners in achieving departmental goals (e.g., statutory filings)
• Participate in branch budgeting and reforecasting process, including the long-range plan for the Financial Conditions Testing

About You

• CPA
• 10 years’ work experience, including three – 5 years in a managerial role, ideally leading a team
• P&C (re)insurance experience in an IFRS environment
• Strong (re)insurance taxation skills (GST/HST/QST and corporate tax)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (including advanced Excel skills) and modern ERP systems

Salary Range

$120,000 - $125,000/year
