About the Opportunity

• Prepare annual and quarterly financial reporting including management discussion and analysis.
• Analyze and prepare accounting white papers for complex accounting issues duly supported by accounting standards and to assist in the development of accounting policies.
• Working with other team members, compile consolidation working papers for financial and management reporting.
• Working with other team members, ensure the financial information of subsidiaries and joint venture partners are compiled timely and accurately.
• Working with other team members, ensure corporate tax compliance and audit schedules are met.
• Assist in developing financial controls, in manual processes as well as in accounting systems.
• Assist in drafting other compliance documents and continuous disclosure requirements.
• Working with other team members, continuously improve the efficiency of the financial reporting cycle by looking for enhancements in accounting systems roll-out.
• Undertake other special projects and analysis work.

About You

• CPA designation
• Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification work experience in progressive accounting or finance positions.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Experience with mining companies and with Latin American subsidiaries an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of Canadian tax and experience with international subsidiaries.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analytics tools such as power query and power pivot/power BI.
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.
• Spanish language an advantage.
• Be able to travel to South America for site visits

Salary Range
$110,000 - $120,000/year
