About the Company

Our client is a large publicly traded retail organization. They are looking to hire a strong and progressive Manager, Financial Reporting to manage the production of their external consolidated financial statements and MD&A on a quarterly and annual basis.

About the Opportunity

• Manage the production of external consolidated financial statements and MD&A on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Responsible for planning quarter-end and year-end including preparing timelines, deliverable lists and roll forward of financial statements
• Manage quarterly reviews and annual audit with the external auditors
• Research and analyze new accounting standards/changes, make recommendations on accounting policy changes and/or revised disclosures, and ensure that financial statement disclosures follow IFRS
• Assist with design, testing and implementation of new accounting and finance systems as applicable
• Assist with period-end (monthly, quarterly, and annual) close tasks, prepare/review various account reconciliations and journal entries accurately and on a timely basis.
• Assist with the consolidation of financial results for both internal and external reporting purposes and ensure accuracy and completeness of information.
• Assist with the balance sheet reconciliation process including ensuring compliance with the policy periodically
• Assist with periodic and quarterly analysis of results and balance sheet movements
• Assist with the accounting for the company’s lease portfolio
• Assist with accounting for the company’s share-based compensation plans
• Assist in preparing Audit Committee and other Board-level materials.
• Support senior leadership in developing and implementing a strong internal control framework.
• Support tax consultants and Director of Taxation with income tax compliance as required
• Assist in the completion of the other external documents including the Management Information Circular and Annual Information Form
• Lead ad hoc reporting requests

About You

• CPA, CA
• 5+ years of experience in external reporting, public accounting/auditing
• Big Four Public Accounting Firm experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with IFRS/ Public Company reporting requirements

Salary Range

$100,000 - $115,000/year
