Manager, Finance Information Systems (Closed)

About the Company

Our client is an academic health science centre that is looking to hire a Manager of Finance Information Systems.

About the Opportunity

• Core IT (Information Security, Corp. User Access, Email, Servers) is managed by the Corporate IT Group
• Individual departments support their own applications (like finance and SAP)
• As the systems are becoming more automated, and IT pressure for related applications and processes are growing, the upgrades and strategy is currently being managed by the individual managers
• This position will centralize that function, oversee the IT leadership for the financial applications, and determine a strategy and prioritization for initiatives (build a roadmap for finance applications, plan coverage, allocate resources, etc)
• The role is about 20-25% hands on
• The first 6 months of the role will focus on working with various business and technical departments, discuss business requirements, document the current state, and pull the blueprint together
• The Manager will help develop the vision and lead the implementation of Finance’s technology strategy including design, implementation and ongoing management of the information systems and related processes
• This role requires excellent project management skills to guide the team in an agile work environment leading multiple high priority projects, enhancements and the evolution of best practices and standards within a dynamic healthcare environment
• Core applications include: TM1, SAP, HRCM (Hospital Focused), Payroll Systems, SQL

About You

• Experience in developing and supporting finance information systems with progressive growth in responsibilities preferably in Healthcare
• Minimum 2 years direct management experience
• Experience leading, or having a significant role in major implementations such as an ERP and having a significant impact on end-user engagement and project management
• Applications using Oracle and Architectural/ Hierarchical Relational Databases
• Understanding of SSRS, SQL, Leading edge BI tools (TM1 preferred) and a top tier ERP system (SAP preferred)
• Strong project management skills, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple work assignments simultaneously
• Financial background greatly appreciated

Salary Range

$115,000/year
