About the Opportunity
  • Manage the Business Analyst that is responsible for conducting market characterization assessment, competitive analysis, business opportunity evaluation for the development of business cases
  • Works collaboratively with Corporate Finance, Treasury and other key internal stakeholders to develop and enable financing strategies to support the continued growth of both current and future business
  • Responsible for the development of comprehensive flexible financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and financing proposals
  • Carries out geographical or sectorial analysis to evaluate growth opportunities
  • Facilitate business discussions, present economics and financial evaluation of business plans to the Executive Committee, prospective alliances, partners and customers
  • Monitor industry policy changes and attend various advisory/consultation group meetings with the purpose of advancing company’s goal on growing the non-regulated business
  • Present the implications and propose strategies on the development of new industry solutions to the executive management team
  • Support Business Development by attending business discussion meetings with prospective customers, preparing business proposals and making recommendations on sales contracts to ensure the adherence to established business rules and guidelines
  • Support the development of community industry initiatives and business model, as well as the commercialization of emerging technology pilots
  • Support Business Execution by participating working committee meetings with prospective business alliances on a weekly basis, as one of the core members from the company, evaluating vendor solutions, assisting the development of project execution plan and reviewing vendor contracts
  • Liaise with project managers and technical partners to prepare and respond to RFI and RFP in the active pursuit of business opportunities
  • Oversee and manage Business Analysts responsible for the financial reporting, budgeting and dividend distribution for one to two business units, ensuring the company and shareholders benefits are accurately accounted for
  • Accountable for the thorough review of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting analysis, and overall review of the financial reporting package for reporting to the Executive Committee, CEO and the Board, for one to two business units
  • Responsible to develop 5-year budgets and annual financial forecast for one to two business units, and provide overall strategic support in order to assist the group in meeting annual financial targets
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives, ensuring process changes are appropriately implemented, documented and communicated
  • Provide leadership and team development through effective team meetings, coaching, training and mentoring staff to ensure that departmental key performance indicators and departmental objectives are met
  • Ensures compliance to legislative, regulatory and Health & Safety policies, procedures and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
About You
  • CPA Designation and / or an MBA
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in forecast / financial modelling
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years’ supervisory experience
  • Experience in financial reporting, variance analysis, and audit is preferred
  • Forecasting, budgeting, business case development and presentation
  • Proficiency in JDE and Reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Insights, Windows)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access database
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects and initiatives within established timelines
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with strong results orientation and ability to deliver under tight deadline and pressure
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain intricate technical information in an organized and concise way
  • Ability to research and critically analyze complex information and evaluate the long-term impact and risks of decisions
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong management, including delegation, attention to detail, analysis, and the ability to influence others
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with peers (and other staff in non-reporting relationship) in a team-based environment
  • Solid leadership skills, including strength in understanding, developing and motivating people towards the achievement of a common set of goals

Pay Rate
$60/hour
