About the Opportunity

  • Review monthly performance reporting and analysis, as well as quarterly reporting to key internal and external stakeholders and develop key messages and communications to the executive team, management team and Board of Directors
  • Interact with senior leaders and executives, shape and execute analyses, and prepare clear, concise and compelling presentations, including those for the board of directors and external stakeholders (Members)
  • Support the development of annual/short term Business Planning cycle to ensure key timelines for management and board review are delivered
  • Work cross-functionally to oversee and conduct due diligence on the consolidation of the budgets and business plans from key business functions
  • Ensure the business plans both strategically and quantitatively align with organizational and departmental objectives
  • Proactively develop and own relationships of our key stakeholders in the business, to ensure their needs are being met, and we are adding value in the right areas
  • Demonstrate highly developed and effective written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the areas of group facilitation and presentation
  • Build value added business cases that allows the departments to better understand context, risks and opportunities and alternative strategic approaches
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of the enterprise risk management (ERM) cycle within the organization that is integrated into the organization’s business planning processes and provides the organization with the necessary parameters to identify, assess, evaluate and manage its risks
  • Support and advise on the implementation of an ERM software system
  • Assist in the development and roll-out of relevant risk management tools and guidance
  • Support the evolution of processes and procedures to become a high performing organization, including opportunities to improve the ERP system
  • Provide direction to departmental staff, establish clear roles and responsibilities and annual performance objectives as well as provide regular performance feedback, coaching and training
  • Ensure employee health and safety, supporting a strong safety culture and ensuring employee activities meet or exceed the health, safety and environment requirements
  • Perform other duties as required

About You

  • University degree in business administration, or related field
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (CPA, CA preferred)
  • Relevant certification in risk management or related field is an asset
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, risk management, FP&A and/or business consulting, 3 of which are in a management role
  • Broad knowledge of a public sector or project-oriented business is valuable.
  • Builds trusted relationships with business functions at all levels across the organization
  • Strategic partner focused on continuous improvement, building organizational capability and systemic thinking
  • Strong team player, understanding that you deliver as a team and it is always best when you collaborate to find solutions to problems
  • Demonstrates a customer service focus
  • Excellent relationship building and communications skills are key requirements of the role in order to work effectively with decision-makers, with staff at all levels in business functions across the organization and with external stakeholders
  • Balance short-term and long-term priorities
  • Promotes culture of increased accountability and ownership for the strategic targeted results
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and consistently, with effective listening and excellent writing skills.  Strong report writing skills is a key requirement of this position
  • Strong financial skills (full understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, project costing)
  • Excellent analytical skills required to identify risks to the business and recommend practical/efficient solutions
  • Solid understanding of risk management and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of strategy development frameworks, processes and tools
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

Salary

$120,000/year
