About the Opportunity

  • Lead the decision making on customer asks and program changes
    • Work with the sales team to access retailer asks
    • Evaluate short-term/long-term implications
    • Provide suitable alternatives and recommendations
  • Initiative improvements to customer and brand profitability
    • Optimize pricing and promotions
    • Apply insights across customer base
    • Categories to improve ROI’s
  • Support innovation
    • Apply knowledge of the category to assess viability of innovations
    • Challenge P&L assumptions
    • Provide recommendations to improve success of launches
  • Manage the sales forecast and budget process
    • Work with sales operations and demand planners to gather relevant information for forecasting and budgeting
    • Reconcile and identify monthly and quarterly variances to expectations
    • Develop a plan to close any gaps
  • Trade promotion management
    • Manage the company’s trade promotion strategy, planning, reporting and execution of programs with retailers to increase the ROI
    • Manage the control environment around promotional requisitions, approvals and payments
  • Assist in special project assignments, collaborate in cross-functional teams and provide ad-hoc analysis when required

About You

  • Business related University Degree (MBA) or Professional Accounting Designation (CMA or CA)
  • Experience (+7 yrs) plus a minimum of 3 years in a related role (CPG, Retail and Trade Spend)
  • Proven ability to lead and a strong team player in a fast paced, cross functional environment
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian retail (Food, Drug and Mass) as it relates to trade incentives
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dig into detail without losing sight of the big picture
  • Strong business acumen combined with strong finance experience to drive growth across both the top and bottom line
  • A track record of pro-actively identifying improved efficiency and cost savings through financial analysis and foresight
  • An ability to drive stronger financial acumen through a cross functional team
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Exceptional skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, as well as experience with trade promotion optimization and management software

Pay Rate

$120,000/year
