About the Opportunity

• Implement and execute month end GL close processes
• Monitor deadlines and milestones following up with relevant owners and escalating issues as needed
• Critically examine month end results and challenge various owners
• Oversee preparation of month end flux analysis for Senior Management review
• Subject matter experts as it relates to account reconciliations performing secondary review of a rotating sample of reconciliations performed by other groups and previously approved by other managers
• Prepare working papers, journal entries, and accounting reconciliations for complex areas of accounting
• Acquisition accounting including pre-deal support, purchase price accounting, pre integration accounting solutions and integration lead for accounting workstream
• Prepare accounting position papers complete with technical US GAAP research, interpretation and application to the Company and proposed accounting conclusions for review by Senior Manager and VP Finance
• Leverage junior team members and find opportunities to give exposure to these complex areas of accounting
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and footnotes in compliance with US GAAP for stakeholders such as Senior Management, Audit Committee and Board of Directors and external stakeholders such as the Company’s debt holders
• Walk external auditors through complex topics and issues, escalating to Senior Manager as required
• Direct oversight of work performed by the Corporate Accounting team (2-3 staff) including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Design process changes for review and approval by Senior Manager and VP Finance
• Project lead role on accounting related projects such as implementation of new accounting standards, statutory audits, internal control reviews, changes in automated accounting instructions and implementation of changes in ways of working
• Regularly work directly with VP Finance on project work and leverage junior team members

About You

• CPA or MBA
• 5-7 years’ experience in Big 4 audit firm or progressive Finance roles at least 3 of which is in accounting
• JDE or other large ERP experience
• Proficient in US GAAP or IFRS including research, analysis and interpretation

Salary Range

$90,000 - $115,000/year
