About the Opportunity

  • Respond to user telephone or e-mail inquiries with a high level of care
  • Log all calls or emails into the Web Helpdesk ticketing system for tracking to resolution
  • Troubleshoot and manage minor hardware, software problems that can be easily resolved in a timely manner
  • Provide instructions to users in an effort to help troubleshoot issues utilizing the organizations best practices
  • Knowledge of PC workstations, both desktop and laptop with a preference for Dell
  • Familiarity or experience with Windows 2003/2008/2010
  • Experience with Windows applications and MS Office products
  • Conceptual knowledge of Network Operating Systems, Network services and WAN technology concepts
  • Recognize and escalate challenges to level II in a timely manner
  • Respond to all calls and put on hold, if necessary, when call volumes are high. Always set the correct expectations with the users
  • Inform the Manager when major issues are occurring so an appropriate course of action can be defined
  • Diagnose and resolve simple end user network and local printer, email, phone, internet, dial-in and local-area network access problems
  • Resets user passwords in accordance with Departmental guidelines
  • Assists with installing, configuring and setting up of PC when directed by Manager
  • Responsible to recognize and report patient, staff, and environment safety issues, identify and implement preventative and corrective actions, within the scope of this role

About You

  • Diploma, or College certificate in Computer Science or related field of study
  • A+ or MCP certification
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a medium sized organization supporting around 1500 users
  • Excellent keyboarding skills to ensure you are capturing all user ticket information
  • Clear understanding of customer service principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
  • Ability to stay calm in a stressful fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting and analytical skills to determine effective ways to diagnose and solve the problem
  • Experience with MediTech is be considered an asset
  • Experience within Healthcare be considered an asset
  • A+ certification would be considered an asset
