Intermediate Tax Analyst (Sales tax) (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Handle federal Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) returns, elections, information forms

• Handle provincial sales tax returns, and information forms

• Excise tax returns, insurance sales tax and premium tax returns

• Assist in the sales tax submissions for the Insurance Bureau of Canada

• Compute sales tax expenses for purposes of completing sales tax instalments, remittances, reassessment and tax continuity schedules.

• Build sales tax entries into accounting and financial systems, and balancing accounting system entries with actual payments, assessments, and reassessments

About You

• Post-secondary education in accounting/finance an asset

• Enrolment in the CPA program is an asset and helpful

• 2+ years of accounting experience

• Previous employment in a company tax department or accounting firm specialized in indirect tax (GST/HST, Provincial Sales Tax) an asset

• Obtain a proven track record to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision

• High degree of proficiency in Excel, database management, and accounting systems

• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills

Salary Range

$60,000 - $68,000/year
