About the Opportunity

• Extremely detail oriented
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Intermediate to Advanced level skills in Excel; MS Access an asset
• Comfortable in Accounting for Foreign Currency Transactions
• Experience with US GAAP preferred
• Ability to work under a tight, deadline driven environment ensuring a high quality of work at all times
• Continuous improvement mindset – identify areas of weakness / potential for improvement and help drive change
• Performs intermediate to complex balance sheet account reconciliations – responsible for monthly completion with supporting schedules for all balance sheet account reconciliations for five Shred-Tech entities
• Financial performance review and prepared summary for three Shred-Tech entities
• Responsible for monthly review and balance sheet
• Records routine transactions (data entry) and adjusting journal entries
• Monthly SGA cost review and reporting of material variance to department managers
• Expense report processing
• Gathers, reviews, analyzes, and reports on various financial information
• Assist with forecasts and budgets and related variance analysis
• Communicates with others in the organization to answer accounting related questions or resolve issues
• Assist with various audits and other projects, as required
• Using available tools, identify areas for process simplification and automation
• Backup for other team members during busy times of year and to cover vacations

About You

• Undergraduate University Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting
• Currently enrolled in the CPA Program
• Experience: 1-3 years of work experience in an Accounting Department

Salary

$60,000 - $65,000/year
