About the Opportunity

• Responsible for managing financial and administrative functions (includes a strategic focus on business forecasting and budgeting that aligns with the organization's mandate, tracking and reporting on designation and restrictions of funds
• Oversight of financial operations including supporting management in developing budgets, monthly financial reporting, and monitoring tools that align with business trends and proficient receipting and data management procedures.
• Work closely with the Executive Director, Audit & Finance and Investment committee members to ensure fiscal oversight of accounting practices, financial results, internal financial controls and the organizations' endowment portfolio and investment policy
• Supervise and encourage development of the data base/finance team
• Acting as the organizational lead in the absence of the Executive Director
• Ensure all reporting and practices are in line with Canadian GAAP standards and CRA guidelines

About You

• Accounting Designation
• Minimum eight (8) years of strong strategic leadership
• Financial analyst/senior accountant experience
• Familiarity with or an understanding of investment strategies
• Demonstrated experience preparing and managing strategic plans, business plans, contractual agreements, and budgets
• Understanding of the subtleties of working in a senior capacity within an organization relying on donations, including the need to influence and lead leaders, build functional relationships, and provide superior support to staff
• Experience using customer relationship management systems
• Experience in data management and the integration of financial records
• Experience with not-for-profit accounting (fund accounting) and financial management principles, along with proven ability to manage financial risks
• Previous experience with or understanding of CRA guidelines for charities an asset
• Bilingual (English and French) is an asset

Pay Rate

$55/hour
