About the Opportunity

General Duties:

  • Assistant to the Manager of Human Resources and Administration
  • Provides daily administrative support to the Human Resources department.


  • Posting of open positions on LinkedIn
  • Receiving and screening of resumes
  • Conducting phone interviews for potential candidates
  • Responsible for scheduling interviews with the applicant, HR Manager and the Hiring Manager
  • Responsible for completing reference checks for candidates
  • Conducting background checks before hire Onboarding:
  • Ensuring new employees are trained in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Accessibility of Ontarians Disability Act (AODA)
  • Maintaining new hire packages and onboarding materials Policies and Procedures:
  • Maintenance of The Company’s Personnel Policies & Procedures
  • Updating the company Personnel Policies & Procedures manual
  • Keep up with new legislation and make changes when required


  • Ensure all employee attendance files are kept current
  • Tracking vacation requests
  • Completion of monthly vacation report

Corporate Communications:

  • Occasional drafting of company memos and distributing to all staff
  • Maintain, update and distribute the annual Performance Reviews
  • Maintenance of various company distribution forms and lists


  • Updating the insurance portfolio
  • Maintaining the Iron Mountain Archives report
  • Updating of Building History and Values working files
  • Assist with the Business Continuity project
  • Assist with organizing company events
  • Reception/Switchboard relief and fill in whenever required
  • Maintain mail processing and mail machine maintenance
  • Perform other duties and assist with special projects and/or events as needed.

About You

  • Experience with reception
  • Payroll experience
  • Candidate Screening
  • HR background, or office administration certification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc


$45,000 - $45,000/year
