They are looking to hire a Global Controller, who will be responsible for overseeing full cycle accounting, financial reporting and analysis, and local compliance for global operations, while also providing strategic support to Senior Management.

About the Opportunity
Build and retain an effective accounting team:
- Foster a collaborative and positive accounting team while soliciting feedback from internal stakeholders
- Attract, retain, and develop financial team to meet the goals of the department
- Challenge the status quo by reviewing and strengthening systems, processes and internal controls
Oversee Accounting and Administration department:
- Ensure development and maintenance of effective internal controls and processes around financial reporting
- Supervision of accounting department and team members including: Business Unit Controller, Staff Accountant and local accounting firms and team members in Europe
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial period end closes (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Account reconciliation preparation and review
- Prepare and review head office disclosure requests
- Analytical review and variance analysis
- Income tax preparation assistance and compliance
- Ensure state Sales Tax/VAT compliance in the United States/Europe as well as provide contract/legal support with customers and vendors
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding financial functions
- Adhere to financial close deadlines
- Prepare cash flow reporting for both management and financial reporting purposes
- Proactively manage and review cash positions to help provide insights into the organization’s operations and business plans
Assist other functions and processes across the organization:
- Assist M&A team with due diligence, post close integration and acquisition onboarding
- Provide supporting details and information to financial analysts to support them with their management reporting requirements
- Liaise with CSI head office and internal audit as required
- Ad hoc projects as required
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in Accounting
- Professional designation required (CPA, CMA, CA or MBA)
- 5+ years of experience managing an accounting department or function
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal skills
- Ability to succeed in a fast paced, growing and dynamic work environment
- A proven leader with a strong track record able to work in a collaborative manner with the senior management team
- Experience working with Microsoft Great Plains and BPC an asset
- Knowledge of IFRS (including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16)
- Experience with taxation and related compliance
Salary Range
$115,000-120,000/year
