General Accountant - 6 Month Contract x2 (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Perform general or cost accounting activities requiring some insight and depth of understanding
• Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions
• Prepare journal entries and check supporting entries, to carry out well-defined steps in cost accounting analysis
• Draft segments of statements and reports
• Begin to handle assignments involving analysis of data
• Review work upon completion for accuracy and soundness
• Prepare or significantly contribute to preparation of a variety of reasonably standard, periodic intermediate or end products, such as cost reports, trial balances, balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements or statements of sourcing and application of funds (as required)
• As requested, prepare appropriate commentary or explanations relating to report items of particular interest or significance. Conduct any pertinent investigation of the accounts involved
• May contact operating or staff personnel to supply or explain data, secure information or describe additional data which could be made available; may furnish limited advice on accounting matters, especially based on well-established principles and practices

About You

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of progressive experience in a similar role (industry or public practice)
• Strong experience in working in a Global multi-entity environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; large ERP experience
• Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis
• Warehousing and Wholesale expense would be an asset

Pay Rate

$30 - $33/hour
