General Accountant

About the Opportunity

• Assist Participate in and support the monthly accounting cycle through preparation of reconciliations, analysis, and preparation of month-end entries
• Complete tax analysis and regulatory filings, such as monthly HST filing, annual corporate tax filing and various ministry filing; issuance of T5 and T2200
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process
• Responsible for the accounting and reporting of the employee pension fund
• Maintain and monitor fee balances and process refunds as necessary
• Lead annual maintenance and review of vendor list
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to support management reporting requirements
• Process bi-weekly cash security releases cheque run and EFT payments
• Maintain the General ledger and Nvision layout reports
• Support to the Finance team on system maintenance issues and user-acceptance testing of newly developed financial reports and FMS system functionalities
• Act as backup to the Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable

About You

• Accounting Designation
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with full cycle accounting
• Advanced MS Excel skills including macros
• Knowledge of Canadian Commodity taxes and payroll principles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Team player

Pay Rate

$35/hour
