Financial Reporting Systems Analyst - 3 Month Contract (Closed)

About the Opportunity

• Simplifying the current financial reporting environment by working as an intermediary between IT and Finance to design and develop solutions to improve the speed and accuracy of the reporting environment
• Apply continuous improvement efforts in design, development, and operation of all financial systems (including SAP BW, Excel, etc.) computerized models and ensure compliance with the business structure
• Provide training on the financial reporting systems as needed
• Provide ad hoc analysis for the various stakeholders within Finance and other departments
• Responsible for various other reports such as banking covenants, quarterly banking package and Statistics Canada reporting
• Support the month close consolidation process as needed

About You

• Excellent analytical skills
• Microsoft Excel: Advanced knowledge and experience building and fixing complex spreadsheets
• Experience in building and managing VBA macros and advanced excel features
• SAP experience
• Keen attention to detail and ability to self-check wor.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team situation and assist staff to develop their own level of expertise in this area
• Methodical in working spreadsheets with the ability to draw out the underlying trends and explain variances
• Self-starter who can manage and work under tight deadlines
• Demonstrated a high level of initiative to propose and implement new business ideas in areas of expertise
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A four-year university education or equivalent in business, finance, accounting, plus further concentrated studies in related areas
• Enrolled or completed a professional Canadian accounting designation such as CA, CPA, CMA, and/or CGA is preferred
• Strong knowledge of ASPE standards preferred
• At least 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience in consolidations and strong understanding of financial statement preparation preferred
• Experience working in a project accounting environment preferred
• Experience working in international & multi currency corporations preferred

Pay Rate

$60/hour
