Financial Reporting Analyst (Closed)

About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Director of Business Intelligence and Planning, the Financial Reporting Analyst will work with the business to understand new data sources, assess data quality, build critical reports, and support report automation. This position will play a critical role in the development and delivery of reporting in NetSuite ERP, to provide accurate and timely insights to the business.  This role will also require the capability to produce ad-hoc analyses, in addition to regular reports critical to the different business lines within our company

• Support the analysis of reports and related data for completeness, accuracy, consistency with other reported financial information, and data quality issues
• Extract data from our transactional systems, prepare and manipulate if and as required for reporting
• Assist to ensure data quality/integrity and business logic to obtain desired results for regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with Managers regarding data needed to report on key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with their LOB
• Provide and or create/compile all data reporting requirements associated with internal reviews, internal audits and regulatory reviews/audits under the direction and guidance from senior accountants and financial managers
• Work with Accounting to design and/or enhance reports for internal stakeholders and LOB leads
• Work closely with CXI management to investigate automation opportunities associated with current reporting
• Take on frequent ad-hoc requests, reports, and analysis from various areas of the business
• Support our Finance Transformation journey including transitioning accounting system from QuickBooks to NetSuite ERP, focusing on continuous process improvement for data-driven insights and reduction of manual work

About You

• Undergraduate in Accounting (preferably) or Finance, Economics or similar
• 2+ years of experience in reporting, analysis, and strategy development in the financial industry, or within an Accounting Department, preferably
• NetSuite experience preferred - NetSuite implementation experience highly preferred
• Experience building and maintaining reports in NetSuite ERP
• Proven experience using SQL to perform queries to analyze, extract and validate data
• Experience using Tableau to create reports
• Advanced Excel knowledge and proven experience i.e. modelling, macros, VBA
• Strong working knowledge in presenting quantitative data via PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc
• Someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and get the job done; but is happy to work independently
• Excellent communicator with strong oral and written communication skills required to effectively and concisely present key findings to senior management and other team members
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw conclusions and provide explanations and make recommendations based on analysis
• Strong work ethic, curious and persistent determination in reviewing and reconciling variances
• Ability to adjust to a fluctuating workload, changing priorities and aggressive deadlines
• Highly organized and detail-oriented and can initiate proactively
• Self-sufficient, able to solve basic questions and problems using readily available resources
• Desire to take full ownership of deliverables and be accountable for results
• Ability to produce deliverables accurately and on time with minimal supervision

Salary

70,000 – 85,000/year
