About the Opportunity

  • Organizes and coordinates the daily actions of the Financial team, including accounting, accounts receivable, Accounts Payable
  • Coaches staff, directing the workflow to achieve the finance department's operational goals
  • Ensures the timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial information and preparation of financial statements
  • Financial analysis in order to provide financial and management decision-making information
  • Provides regular financial reports; responds to senior management questions and assists with the interpretation of reports
  • Coordinates the annual audit with external auditors
  • Review year end schedules, lead sheets and working papers for the auditors
  • Develops budget templates
  • Prepares budget detail for all expenditures and funding/revenue
  • Monitors actual against budget, ensuring that expenses are controlled; advises appropriate Director/Manager/Supervisor of any variances and ensures that plans are developed to address negative variances
  • Monitors funds and expenses ensuring all allocated to the correct envelope
  • Reviews financial data on a regular basis for accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulated accounting standards
  • Develops and implements accounting practices and controls to ensure compliance with applicable company policies; coordinates application of accounting and finance procedures, policies and controls
  • In collaboration with VP, Finance, identifies risks and inefficiencies and works with senior management to develop and implement solutions to mitigate risk
  • Lead and coordinate the daily functions of the payroll team
  • Ensure seamless data flow between systems
  • Liaise with IT department and external stakeholders to ensure system configuration meets our reporting requirements
  • Consult with 2 unions

 

About You

  • CPA designation
  • Preferably long-term healthcare experience or healthcare (experience working with LHIN)
  • 5 years hands-on experience in similar role
  • QuickBooks and Advanced Excel skills would be assets
  • Process improvement and automation experience
  • Able to work from the office
  • Strong communication skills

Pay Rate

$50/hour
