Our client is a leading mining company. They are currently looking for a Financial Analyst, Reporting and Consolidation to support financial statement consolidation and analysis.

About the Opportunity

• Monthly preparation of the group consolidation.
• Interfacing with various offices to ensure complete and accurate submission of data.
• Prepare and record consolidation journal entries, including eliminations entries, amortization, accruals and cross charges
• Analyze and prepare monthly intercompany matching reports, interact with sites to resolve differences and record intercompany elimination/adjustment as required
• Liaise with auditors in the quarterly and year-end review audits, providing them with required analysis and promptly responding to their queries
• Take a lead role in the maintenance of the consolidation software (Oracle), ensuring the integrity of the database, ensuring its availability to operational users, and maintenance of the group’s chart of accounts
• Assist with the preparation of both internal and external reporting requirements, including the internal management report, audited financial statements and the MD&A
• Prepare the quarterly executive slide deck for presentation to the board
• Draft technical accounting memos
• Prepare Statistics Canada and ESTMA Filings
• Prepare and review ad-hoc statutory financial statements for the subsidiaries
• Work closely with the planning and treasury teams on other finance deliverables

About You

• CPA Designation or close to completion
• Firm (Big 6 Senior Accountant) or Industry (FA/SFA level) experience 
• Experience in the Mining, Oil/Gas, Utilities/Energy, Manufacturing industries
• IFRS reporting/consolidations experience
• SAP or Oracle experience is a strong asset

Salary Range

$80,000 - $95,000/year
